C FAUSTO CABRERA
From paper pulped out of prison records to poems shaped by survival, Cabrera explores the inherited weight of trauma, survival, and accountability. His practice moves between studio and community, merging creative expression with the real-world work of transformative justice. Each project, no matter the container invites viewers to slow down, witness, and reconsider what healing can look like when art becomes both ritual and responsibility.

Purpose
The story did not end with my release. I continue to use my art & my voice as tools of liberation. Each exhibition, workshop, and public conversation is part of an ongoing effort to confront the realities of mass incarceration and to advocate for pathways home. This work is driven by the belief that transformation must extend beyond the individual, reaching toward collective healing, accountability, and the possibility of freedom for those still waiting to be seen.
Inherited Scars Collection
The Inherited Scars Collection is a living body of work born from a somatic ritual of transformation. Trauma-bearing paperwork is shredded, soaked in a sweetgrass elixir, pulped, and hand-pulled into new sheets of paper as substrate for a new narrative.
The collection unfolds across several interconnected series. The Seen Series bears witness to those whose stories have too often been reduced to records and labels, restoring humanity through portraiture and presence. The Road to Freedom Series traces the long emotional and spiritual movement from captivity toward restoration, healing, and self-determination. The Shredded Symbols Series expands the process into a broader visual language, deconstructing the signs, documents, and inherited systems that have shape identity and harm. Indelible Marks turns inward, exploring the permanent impressions left on the body, memory, and spirit, while asking what remains after transformation.
What began as a personal act of survival has expanded into a larger meditation on memory, healing, and futurity. The Inherited Scars Collection no longer speaks only to what was endured, but to what can be built beyond it…an insistence that the past may shape, but doesn’t control…

CFC Photography
Upon Request
CFC Photography is driven by instinct, authorship, and creative control. I’ve shot Runway 7 for NY Fashion Week and continue to slowly build a strong portfolio.
Most of my work lives in passion projects: constructed, intentional, and exploratory. I’m not interested in volume, just in images that hold weight. I keep a limited lane open for headshots and select collaborations, primarily within my circle. If the idea is strong or the energy is right, I’ll consider it.
If you’re looking for something inventive, something with a raw edge, or something that doesn’t feel manufactured reach out.
